Junior and Senior Infants enjoy their time in our fully stocked library. The library works the same as a regular library. The children get to take books out for a certain period of time and must return them before they can get a new book. The children thoroughly enjoy the time spent in the library and really develop a lifelong love for books and therefore reading from a young age.

The sound of music rings out in St. Senan's

In St. Senan's we participate in 'The Magic of Music' programme. It is a wonderful programme that exposes the children to each strand of the music curriculum ensuring to include every child in the lessons in a fun and interactive way. The children take part in a music lesson with our music facilitator Matthew Noone one day each week.

'The Magic of Music gives the children an opportunity to develop their natural abilities and potential and fosters in them a lifelong love for music. It makes cross curricular links effortlessly and integrates all strands of the Revised Music Curriculum in original hands on activities'. 

Children who participate in the Magic of Music will:
o	Have their self esteem and confidence nourished through participation in exciting listening and responding exercises, musical performance, drama, art, making instruments and much more.
o	Be enabled to interact with other children in a creative and safe way.
o	Explore, clarify and express ideas, feelings and experiences through various music mediums.
o	Acquire a basic musical literacy through use of an innovative and child friendly teaching method which is relevant and challenging from Junior Infants to sixth class, regardless of previous music experience.
o	Develop an openness and awareness to a wide range of musical genres including traditional Irish, classical, popular, rock, world music, jazz, gospel and rap which are built on and developed each year of the programme. Junior Infants enjoying their first music lesson with Matthew.

Up the Banner

The children made a great effort to show off their county colours on Friday for our blue and yellow day in support of our fantastic Clare Senior hurling team. Thankfully we will have another day to shout on our wonderful hurlers and that hopefully the children will get the opportunity to witness one of the most precious events in the history of Clare hurling.

Welcome to the Junior Infant Class of 2013

I would like to give a very warm welcome to all the new Junior Infant boys and girls that started school on Monday the 2nd of September for the first time. It is the beginning of a very exciting journey for each boy and girl as well as for their families as they embark on this wonderful journey filled with exploration and discovery. The boys and girls have been busy settling in and embracing all things new. They have received fantastic support from their peers in Senior Infants who have shown great leadership over the last few days.
